These terms govern use of Kai ("the app", "the service"), an AI-powered product search chat for Shopify, Wix and WooCommerce storefronts. By installing or connecting the app, you ("the merchant") agree to these terms on behalf of yourself and your store.
The app reads a merchant's published product catalog and uses it to answer shoppers' natural-language questions through a chat widget added to the merchant's storefront. It is a search and discovery tool: it does not place orders, modify carts, or access customer or payment data. See the Privacy Policy for exactly what data is collected and how it's handled.
The app connects to your store by installing the app from the Shopify App Store and approving the requested permissions, installing the app from the Wix App Market and approving the requested permissions and installing the Kai plugin on your WordPress site and approving a REST API key on your store's own authorization screen. You're responsible for the accuracy of the product data in your own catalog — the app displays and answers questions using whatever is published there.
The app is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We may update, change, or discontinue features at any time, and we'll make reasonable efforts to keep the service running but don't guarantee uninterrupted availability. Chat responses are generated by an AI model and, like any AI system, may occasionally be inaccurate or incomplete — the app is a search aid, not a guarantee of catalog accuracy.
Shopify: New stores start on a free trial, which ends after 30 days or once its included chat messages are used, whichever comes first. After that, a paid monthly plan is needed to keep the chat widget answering. Plans, prices and limits are shown on the app's App Store listing and on its Plans page. Paid plans are billed every 30 days by Shopify on the merchant's Shopify invoice; merchants can switch plans at any time from the Plans page, and uninstalling the app cancels the subscription.
Wix and WooCommerce: the app is currently free to use.
If prices or plans change, the new terms will be posted before they take effect, and existing merchants will be notified in advance of any change that affects them.
Uninstalling the app from your Shopify admin immediately revokes its access., Uninstalling the app from your Wix site dashboard immediately revokes its access., Deactivating the Kai plugin, or revoking its API key in WooCommerce → Settings → Advanced → REST API and stops its access. Deactivating the plugin also notifies us automatically. You may stop using the app at any time this way. We may suspend or terminate access to the service for any merchant who violates these terms or whose use poses a risk to the service or other merchants.
The service is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from use of the app, including lost sales or lost data. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
If these terms change, the updated version will be posted at this same URL with a new "last updated" date. Continued use of the app after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.
